A champion for youth and a dedicated leader: Duncan Mikae is the Founding President of the Bungoma County Youth Bunge Forum (Yes Youth Can Bungoma County) and the National Organizing Secretary of the National Youth Bunge Association (NYBA). Besides being an online volunteer with Amnesty International, Duncan is also a volunteer with Fisa Africa (Foundation for Indigent Students of Africa). Fisa Africa is a non-profit organization supporting poor African students for post-graduate courses.
Duncan is the Director of Sanaa Arts, a community based organization supporting the development of youth talent. Tireless in his efforts, he is also the CEO of Stagescratch Agency which is a company supporting young entrepreneurs. He has spearheaded the formation of 25 County Youth Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOS) under the Yes Youth Can program. He also is currently running an online campaign to end gender-based violence.
As a YALI Fellow, Duncan will use what he learns to build capacity in Kenyan youth through mentorship clinics across the country. He plans to support young African entrepreneurs by offering training and investments for starting businesses. Congratulations Duncan!
Youth Village Kenya acknowledge his efforts as he develops his civic leadership.
