Towards the last week of April 2022, Vocalist Wills Chimano from all boys band Sauti Sol released his long anticipated EP album titled ‘Heavy is The Crown’.

Chimano declared himself as a gay in December 2021, and his new album provided a slim look into his new ‘same sex’ life.
Here are interesting facts about the ‘Heavy is The Crown’.
- He debuted the 7 track EP alongside ‘Hallelujah- the project’s lead single and music video.
- Chimano explained that Hallelujah, as a pop single with a classic feel that echoes the EP’s concept of self-love and self-acceptance.
- He also revealed that Hallelujah was actually authored by band mate Bien-Aime Baraza,
- The 7 track EP album was inspired by the early 80s and 90s music.
- It is also loaded with previously released singles such as ‘Friday Feeling ‘, ‘Freedom’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Loser’, ‘Mad Love’ and ‘Stereo’.
- Chimano’s album is referred to as an EP (Extended play record) because it is a half-length album that contains fewer songs as compared to a Long Play or rather a full length album.
- Chimano says the EP was his agenda to challenge toxic masculinity, prejudices and hypocrisy in the society.
- His album was inspired by Sauti Sol’s ‘Alone Together’ project which began three years ago due to COVID-19 pandemic
- ‘Alone-Together’ is basically the new form of Sauti Sol’s life, where they vowed to continue working together
- The name of Chimano’s album was coined to reflect his beliefs and values.
