On Monday 7th of December in 2020, Kenyan medic Dr. Stephen Mogusu paid the ultimate price for being among the front-liners who are battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

From being a soldier, Dr.Mogusu became a victim and went on to die, in a situation that government took the biggest blame.

Dr.Mogusu had even earlier spoken to Daily Nation, though on accounts of anonymity, that he had contracted the deadly virus which was catapulted by poor working conditions of the medics.

First, his problems started when he was rushed to Komarock Hospital before being referred to Kenyatta University Hospital. His condition had worsened while at Komarock Hospital’s High Dependency Unit

He was taken for home based care, but things went south again and he was rushed back to Kenyatta University Hospital, where he was put on an injection worth Sh.22,000 for five days.

Even so, this money was contributed to by friends and relatives. His condition continued to go down, and he was added 4 more injections

As fate will have it, COVID-19 did not give the heartfelt Dr. Mogusu time to recover.

He was again taken back to KU Hospital for admission which did not happen because they missed to raise admission fee of Ksh.200,000.

However, he managed to be admitted on intervention of DP. William Ruto
