In order to expand and achieve professional success, recent graduates should know that there are qualities in a person that are vital to get a job.

Learning to set of skills such as dedication to work, the desire to learn or enthusiasm are the most important qualities sought by recruiters.

Below we will show you 17 attributes highly valued by employers:

1. Flexibility / adaptability

Being able to adapt to changes quickly, being multitasking and knowing how to work as a team are substantial skills for recruiters.

It is always positive that a person knows how to adapt to different situations or jobs, this can be reflected in your resume, for example, putting language skills, adding an experience or situations in which you had to organize various commitments.

2. Communication skills

Today people are looking for able to listen, observe, understand and relate ideas effectively to be able to design strategies for teamwork, that is, people with great communication skills.

This should be shown with a clear and concise curriculum. I included any experience in which you had to speak in public or have drafted projects. It is extremely positive that you know how to communicate in writing and verbally.

3. Ability to solve problems

The leadership skills will be useful both at work and in life in general. It is necessary that you know how to evaluate, solve situations and decide which is the most appropriate.

The leaders understand the goals and objectives of the company, so they know how to motivate and inspire their colleagues, in turn, the ability to solve problems recognizes the long-term consequences and assumes personal responsibility for them.

You do not have to have a great position to show leadership skills, new employees or people with few responsibilities may also have skills to improve a product or a process.

4. Creativity

Creativity solves problems. Innovate, intuit, imagine, employers recruit people with fresh, new ideas that help them expand their businesses.

5. Interpersonal relationships

Your goal is to convince employers that you are what they need: you are reliable, dedicated and hardworking. Consider the interpersonal skills that they will value for the job position in which you are applying; and if you want, make a list.

6. Team work

This means operating smoothly and efficiently in a group. It is an important aspect for many companies, so knowing how to get along with the rest of the team and accepting suggestions and opinions are determining factors to obtain the job.

Working in a team requires leadership, decision-making skills, the ability to follow instructions and play your role well on the team.

If you practiced sports or did volunteer work, they are good examples to show how good you are to work as a team.

7. Positive attitude

It is a skill highly valued by recruiters. Not everyone has a positive attitude towards the objectives of the company and the challenges that may arise. Nowadays people are required to be enthusiastic, flexible and positive. For example, avoid criticism of your previous work, focus on the good of your ex work and the good experiences you had.

8. Dedication

The dedication to the proposed tasks is basic. Remember to arrive on time and commit to all your tasks.

9. Trust

For many companies this is the main attribute: self-confidence, being sure of your skills and knowledge.

10. Honesty and integrity

Doing the right thing even when others do not. Recruiters look for candidates who are honest.

11. Initiative

Besides doing your job well you must do it independently and you also have to take the initiative when it comes to solving the different situations that arise.

12. Desires to learn

The desire to learn always helps to move up faster within a company.

13. Results, figures and acknowledgments

Past experiences and responsibilities are no longer as good as they used to be. They want to know what you have achieved in the present: in your resume you use times in the past: “I developed”, “I started”, “I increased”. On the other hand, you have to prepared to talk to them, avoid vague statements. Deciles numbers, concrete figures and, if you have them, tell them your awards or recognitions, show confidence and security in what you say.

14. Blogs or Web Page

These kinds of things position as an expert on the subject. Make sure that the website is professional, that it talks about topics that your employers are interested in.

15. Sense of belonging

Let them know that you intend to be with the company for many years.

16. Growth Potential

Demonstrate your desire to go beyond what they seek, their expectations, beyond what you wrote on your resume. Highlight situations in which you had to leave your area. If you can communicate this, you will find people willing to promote your success.

17. Hobbies

This is one of the most common one.

You need to have hobbies that run with your profession
