Johnson Mwakazi is the former presenter of Morning Breakfast program in Citizen television. He is known for eloquence, keenness to details and soft speaking. Mwakazi is a real story of a man from rags to riches. He grew up Kibera slums, one of the largest slums in Africa. He struggled from a hopeless child to a hopeful gentleman. He dared to dream amid difficulties.

10. His mother worked as a house help in Woodley estate. She was being paid sh. 3000 per month. The father was a chronic drunkard who had no time for the family.
9. He studied at Kichinjio Nursery School, Kibera Primary School and Jamhuri High School. He got saved in high school.
8. He joined Kibera Theater Group as an actor. This is where he discovered his talent, he could narrate and facilitate in a plays. He also acted at Kenya National Theater.
7. As a teenager he got addicted to pornography a vice he was introduced to by his friends in the slums, he managed to escape from the vice after high school.
6. His first contact was of doing voice over for adverts in Hot 96 FM. He was earning sh. 4000 after six months.
5. He applied for a position in Citizen TV as a news anchor and he got the job. He secured the job without post secondary education, but only through his good looks and voice that commands the queen’s language as a native.
4. He then joined Dayster University for Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He attended classes by night and worked by day.
