These days, one has got to be careful about what they post on social media; after all, we are in the era of screenshots, whereby whatever you post cannot be undone; it will be screenshot and used against you, be it by a future employer or even frenemy.
It’s also important to remember that the internet can be a dangerous place full of scammers, frat-boys, the dimwits and lowlifes of society and it’s important to take caution:
Here are things you should avoid posting:
1. Cursing out a potential client or employer
Many are the times we are frustrated for instance due to delayed payments by a client or one of those ‘big talk less action’ kind of clients. However, it’s best to keep your frustrations off social media and do all the necessary follow-ups via email. Posting negatively about a company is often always shooting yourself in the foot.
2. Internet shaming
Who the hell raised this generation of fat, age, slut shaming and all other forms of internet bullying? It’s unfathomable that someone would spend an unimaginable amount of time bullying people virtually to make themselves feel better.
3. Racial slur
It’s ignorant and only shows what kind of a person you are. Avoid putting up ignorant racist comments or updates. No one chose to be born into a certain religion, country or race.
4. Controversial posts
See, the thing with the internet age at the moment is how fast news spread. Controversy generates a clout and chances are, a post is bound to go viral. Before you post it on your time line, take your time to research and make sure that you’re not spreading false information or for lack of a better word, bullsh*t. Integrity is important…
5. Financial information
We can only imagine how closing a one million deal may feel like. Damn son! Well in! Well in! But how is posting money shots and your financial information online going to help? You could be car jacked before you even get to enjoy a single coin. Stay humble and make your moves in silence, let the success make the noise.
6. Indecency
No need to expose your goodies all over the internet. Stay classy! Think about the future, when your kids decide to Google the hell out you and get the shock of their lives…awkward indeed!
7. Posts with grammar errors
Before you post anything in a hurry, always spell check and remember to Google a word you aren’t sure of, it’s free. The wrong spelling mistake could get you trolled for days!

8. Extreme turn up photos
Whether or not you’re having a ball at Masaku 7s, you might want to avoid posting those twerking videos and photos. Employers actually Google you out before employing you! So unless your career goal is to be the next IT stripper, then keep the twerking videos and racy photos to yourself.
9. Awkward poses
You may post an awkward pose photo just for fun, only to end up in millionS of memes…eek!
10. Too much of personal information
Keep your relationship shenanigans off social media. Show off your kid less, the less you post about your personal life such as where you live, what you drive and what not, the better and safer you are.
