In a series of heart-wrenching incidents, ten young Kenyan ladies have met a tragic fate, their lives cut short in cold blood by individuals who were once considered trusted companions.

As the nation grapples with shock and disbelief, the spotlight turns to the unsettling narrative of jilted lovers who, consumed by jealousy and rage, unleashed unimaginable violence upon their former partners. These heinous acts have left families devastated, communities in mourning, and a nation questioning the depths of human darkness.

1. Starlet Wahu Mwangi,

Starlet Wahu Mwangi, 24, the sister of Prophet Kanyari, tragically met her end in a South B, Nairobi Airbnb. John Matara, a middle-aged man, was arrested on suspicion of her murder.

In an online CCTV video, Wahu, in a red dress, entered the apartment building with a man. The next day, a distress call reported a murder. Police, finding the residence secured, forcibly entered, discovering Wahu’s lifeless body in a pool of blood.

Judith Nyongesa, Makadara’s police commander, revealed the victim bled to death, with bruises and stab wounds on her thighs, suggesting an attempt to escape before succumbing.

Authorities secured the area, initiating an inquiry. Preliminary findings indicated a rented night out for the duo. Recovered items included an HIV testing kit (negative result), used condoms, victim’s clothing, a mobile phone, alcohol, and a knife as the murder weapon.

“The case is under investigation to uncover the motive,” said Commander Nyongesa.

Detectives traced the suspect’s phone to a local hospital, where he received treatment for a stab wound. The ongoing investigation aims to determine the motive behind this horrific crime.

2.Bernadette Konjalo

She met her death in January 2019, when armed Al Shaabab terrorists stormed Dusit D2 hotel where she worked as a receptionist.

It is believed that she was killed while trying to save more lives from the danger

3.Mildred Odira

Nation Media Group Switchboard operator, mother of one was killed in another mysterious situation.

She woke up on one morning around 4am headed for hospital when her health had worsened.

Only to be found dead in Kasarani in a pool of blood

Her death too, happened in 2019 February.

4.Tabitha Muthoni

A fresher at JKUAT was killed in February 2019 when robbers stamped her to death.

Tabitha would be pronounced dead at JKUAT hospital.

The incident happened on February 7th 2019 at night , 8pm

5. Mary Kamangara Wambui

The lady is believed to have been killed by a couple Mary Wangui and Joseph Kori over love triangle.

The deceased body would later be dumped in Kiamaiko in Kiambu County.

The murder took place in 2019,

6.Sharon Otieno

Pregnant varsity student from Rongo University in Migori county was killed by unknown people.

Among key suspect was Migori governor Okoth Obado who was the dad to unborn child

She was killed in 2018, September

7.Janet Wangui

She was killed by her accused husband who is thought to have sent assailants to finish her on basis of dating younger cousin.

Janet Wangui was shot at City Park Nairobi, leaving her cousin badly injured and fighting for life in ICU.

She died in May 2018.

8.Anne Wanjohi

She was sadly killed by police constable Simon Njoroge Njau in Nairobi’s city centre in 2017, September after she refused to marry him.

She was shot five times. The officer had known her for three months.

9.Lucy Njambi

She died in February 2018, after being forced to swallow acid that her attackers later doused her with.

10.Caro Ngumbu

She was killed beside Chris Musando, days to 2017 general elections which happened in August 2017.

Caro was said to be with murdered IEBC ICT chief Chris Musando

11.Monica Kimani

Death of Monica Kimani shock the country most in 2018, which happened to coincide with Sharon Atieno’s murder case.

The business woman was killed in her house located in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

Top accused were security agent Joseph Irungu and Citizen TV host Jacky Maribe.
