About 17 people have been confrimed dead, when a lorry collided head on with a matatu at Ngoliba area.
The Matatu was headed to Kitui County.
Police indicate 13 died on the spot while the rest died on their way to hospital.
According to Thika Traffic Base Commander, Michael Lemaiyan, a 14-seater matatu traveling from Nairobi to Kitui collided head on with an oncoming lorry while trying to overtake other vehicles.
