Agricultural Sector Development Support Programme (ASDSP) II is a five year Programme (2017-2022) financed by the Government of Kenya (National and 47 County governments), the Government of Sweden and the European Union (EU).
The Programme is implemented by the Government of Kenya (National and 47 County Governments) with strong participation of the private sector as direct beneficiaries or service providers.
The Programme’s overall goal is to contribute to “transformation of crop, livestock and fishery production into commercially oriented enterprises that ensure sustainable food and nutrition security”.
The Programme’s purpose is to “develop sustainable Priority Value Chains (PVCs) for improved income, food and nutrition security.
In order to monitor and measure programme progress throughout the lifetime of the programme, at both impact, outcome and output level, the programme developed a Results Framework with a set of impact, outcome and output indicators.
Based on this, the programme plans to conduct a baseline survey with a specific aim of benchmarking baseline data for the programme Impact, Outcome and Output indicators against which programme progress will be assessed against – both during programme routine monitoring, midterm and end-line evaluation.
Nyamira County being one of the 47 counties will carry out the baseline survey along with other 47 counties in the country. To manage the baseline survey in the county a team called County Base line survey Team (CBT) has been formed to spear head the process as was guided by the national programme secretariat.
To assist the CBT collect field data for this survey, there will be need to recruit enumerators who will interview sampled value chain actors in Nyamira County.
