The Psychology is the academic discipline devoted to the study or treaty of the soul, combining knowledge of the human psyche with behavioral analysis and different scientific knowledge to understand and guide humans along different stages of life. For this, it covers concepts as broad as motivation, emotion, personality, awareness, perception and much more.

When thinking about this discipline, the most obvious work output for it is in the clinical setting. That is, in the exercise of Psychology for the treatment of patients.

But the truth is that this is not the only possibility for this discipline. In fact, Psychology has great relevance in the academic field, as a research discipline, because it has a wide list of areas and topics to explore.

To make matters worse, modern life determines that this will be one of the professions of the future, if studying Psychology can be a real success for young undecided. This fact can be clearly reflected in the consideration of 3 realities that undeniably predict the success of this discipline in the coming years:

1) New technologies:

The ICT part of our daily lives, impacting directly on how to relate and communicate, creating a new perception of reality and generating in its wake hundreds of emotions. The clearest example of this is social networks, which according to what has been shown by various studies can even cause feelings of depression and anxiety.

Faced with an increase in phobias, fears, addictions and pathologies linked to new technologies, psychologists will have a strong impulse for the future.

2) Stress:

This has been considered as the disease of the century, particularly the techno-stress or technological stress caused by ICT. Considering that an automated future is expected, managing these emotions will be vital, and therefore work will increase for professionals in Psychology.

3) Adaptation to change

The contemporary world varies at a devastating pace, which is not always easy to get used to. Therefore, it is necessary to have a discipline that provides the tools to these changes.

The globalized world necessarily implies instability. At the same time, it promotes the infinite possibilities of ICTs and the forms of relationships they allow, together with the lack of knowledge associated with not being clear about the extent to which technology will arrive.

Faced with this state of continuous crisis, it can be said with certainty that Psychology is a profession of the future.
