The job holder provides and carries out fire and rescue services to passengers, other airport users and property.
Employment Terms: Permanent and Pensionable
Main Responsibilities:
a) Conducts fire and rescue services through fire-fighting in crashed aircrafts and reported fire outbreaks in buildings to save life and property.
b) Inspects vehicles, appliances and equipment to ensure serviceability.
c) Cleans and maintains appliances and equipment at the fire station to ensure they are in good working order.
d) Inspects runways, taxiways and apron for fuel spillage and FOOS (Foreign objects) and ensures that they are clean and safe.
e) Inspects the airport boundary i.e. topography to ensure their accessibility.
f) Operates pumps i.e. driving of fire engines.
g) Participates in daily physical fitness and fire drills to ensure continuous physical fitness in the event of an emergency.
h) Washes oil and fuel spillage to ensure no fire fumes are generated by spillage.
i) Ensures maintenance and improvement of KAA QMS.
j) Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualification required for this position
a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C or equivalent
b) Medically and Physically fit
c) Certificate of Good Conduct
