Are you about to start a new life as a university student? Then there are some things you should know to have the best possible experience

Contents
1.Prepare for the tuft2.Your schedules will change3.Take care of your health4.Patience is fundamental

The holiday passed like a sigh. After facing the KCSE, going through the entire application process and having a well-deserved vacation, the moment arrived that you expected so much: you are about to start university!

As you are about to start a new life, and surely many things will change, it is logical that you feel a little nervous and restless.

To help you beat the anxiety, we tell you what are the 4 things that students who enter the first year of college or University should know:

1.Prepare for the tuft

Some universities are implementing alternative measures to avoid the violent practices that often characterize the tuft. However, you must be prepared. In your first week you wear comfortable clothes and you do not mind staining.

2.Your schedules will change

You will not have a longer schedule as defined as at school. This means that you will have to reorganize your calendar a bit to be able to continue with your extracurricular activities.

3.Take care of your health

All these changes probably generate a bit of anxiety and your body feels it. That’s why it’s more important than ever to take care of your health. Eat properly, do not skip any food, stay hydrated and sleep at least 7 or 8 hours a day.

4.Patience is fundamental

Higher education entails other types of challenges at the academic level. Maybe your grades are not as outstanding as in school or maybe the career you chose to study is not what you expected.

In either case, it is essential that you do not lose patience. Keep studying and striving, and if the months go by and the situation does not change, maybe you should rethink your vocation. But all in due time.
