21-4-1

1. Keep your profile updated

Make sure your profile includes a current logo and has accurate and complete information about your organization. The key is to be on networks where your target market is. You need to be consistent across on at least one of these networks Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. Consistency of your organizational image and information builds credibility. Commit to staying in front of your network (target market) with consistent and valuable information on your topic of expertise.

2. Be Active Consistently and Persistently in Social networking

The key to networking success is to get active. Create a routine that includes making strategic connections, participating in group discussions, sharing your expertise to answer questions, and providing engaging, educational, and sometimes entertaining content. You can borrow credibility from others by sourcing for information from across the web.

3. Network everywhere with everyone

When looking for organizations to join to help you build your relationships and connections, choose groups where you can make a contribution and will be interested in what is going on. Develop relationships that benefit the other party as much as they do you. Build relationships for the long term. More and better relationships mean a greater likelihood of generating leads that you can convert into great opportunities for your business.

4. Always talk about your business

Marketing is creating awareness about the value you offer. Market your business by talking about the value you deliver to your clients all the time with everyone you meet.

5. Read and share

Always have a book you are reading and share what you learn with people. Put together the key points and share them on your website, blog and social networks. This is simply a way to put your expertise into a readily available written format for your market to access without you needing to be there.

6. Introduce your network to credible businesses

Increase your credibility through association. Identify important needs for people in your network and introduce them to highly credible businesses that can solve their needs. Your network will associate the credibility of these businesses with you.

7. Referrals from your current clients

Getting referred by your current clients is the surest way of acquiring credibility. Ask for referrals from happy clients by inquiring if they have any friends or colleagues that might benefit from the work you’ve done together

8. Have an interview with an Expert

Having someone else interview you about your business, your background, and what makes you different is a terrific way to build your credibility. Share the interview across your networks to ensure maximum reach of your target market. This is a way for your market to learn more about who you are and what you do without you needing to be there.
