According to a report by the Saturday Nation, a family source revealed that the information was factual stating that: “It is true. It was necessary”

Ms Kibaki, who has not been in the public eye for over five years, was on March 11 rushed to Gertrude’s Hospital at 5 am and later transferred to Nairobi Hospital, where she was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.

It is not yet public what the former First Lady is ailing from but during her last admission at the hospital, Kibaki’s press secretary Mr Ngare Gituku indicated that: “She is responding well to treatment and the doctors want to conduct a series of tests to ascertain that there is absolutely no issue that would crop up at any given time,”

News of her ailment moved Kenyans to send messages to Ms Kibaki praying and wishing her a quick recovery.
