On Wednesday of 7th April 2021, Betty Barasa working with Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a journalist was shot dead at her home in Ngong, Nairobi metropolitan.
The senior video editor had been trailed by armed gunmen to her gate in Ololua area.
The men held her at gunpoint and led her to her house, holding the rest of the family hostage . The gunmen who were demanding money, led late Betty upstairs as the rest watched over the family members.
Two gunshots were herd and the gunmen quickly picked her phone and her laptop before disappearing.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have since picked up the case.
