1. Keep the big vision
A great vision will take you far. I put this tip first because when things go wrong on the road to success, and they will, by keeping the big vision in mind you can steer your way back to success.
2. Feed your vision with perseverance
What must go hand in hand with a great vision is the perseverance you will need to keep moving forward. Sometimes when the going gets tough on your path as an entrepreneur, you have to commit to moving forward, regardless of the discomfort and fear surrounding the next steps
3. Make a plan, but be flexible
You need some plans. Yes, you have not read it wrong, we have said it in the plural. If you are an entrepreneur, you need several plans, even if each one is only a few pages long. Business plans, accompanied by a marketing scheme, are important for success.
4. Take advantage of your experience
If you’re already good at something or have a skill set, take advantage of it. Don’t try to take over every aspect of your business. Hire agencies and employees for the things you can’t do and focus on your strengths as often as possible.
5. Do not try to invent the wheel
What is working in other people’s business models, in their industry, in software applications and other business operations that you can emulate? Don’t waste time trying to set up systems when you can simply buy and install one, saving precious time and spending little money
6. Don’t get burned
Your health is literally the most important thing in your life. When your body gives in, you’re done. Your heart doesn’t care how good your business is; your circulatory system is not going to be impressed by your money and business achievements.
7. Take advantage of everything
When you use leverage to your advantage in all aspects of your life, you go further and faster. Take advantage of outsourced help to streamline tasks and save time for tasks that determine the direction of the organization. Take advantage of waiting time anywhere (waiting rooms, public transport, airport…) to keep moving forward.
8. Keep your sense of humor
If you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re missing out. Laughing is a good cure for stress. To infuse some joy into life and get some perspective on the fact that, hey, this is just life, after all, you don’t have to take it so seriously.
