A section of leaders from Kakamega have warned Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, against from visiting the county.
The leaders, led by MCA Cleophas Malala have expressed their fear for Kuria’s “bad influence” that could rub off on the youth of the area.
Kuria is scheduled to visit Mumias town on Friday to preside over a Mentorship or Talk Programme.
In a statement to newsrooms on Wednesday, Malala said: “It has been brought to our attention that a certain meeting between the youth of Kakamega County and Moses Kuria is slated to take place on June 10 in Mumias 10. The meeting is clothed in the drapery of Mentorship Talk or Programme.”
“Kakamega is not devoid of able mentors. We are not interested in the talk being fronted by Kuria who has on several occasions in the mainstream media been cited as an agent of tribal profiling, ethnic cleansing and youth radicalization,” he added.
Kuria is currently facing a number of incitement related charges in the courts of law. The controversial legislator is also on record as stating that he will mobilise the youth to counter the ongoing weekly anti IEBC demonstrations being organized by the opposition.
