The minors are said to have secretly secured a ‘safe’ spot on the chassis of a Greenline Company Bus where they lay throughout the 10-hour journey.
The boys were discovered after they ‘alighted’ from the chassis when the bus arrived in Nairobi on Tuesday morning. They appeared to be in good health despite the cold weather experienced across the country.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday, the company management said that the two, who have since been returned to Bungoma, were allegedly talked into the mission by their cousin who was once a street urchin in Nairobi.
“The two said that they were influenced by a cousin who was a former street boy in Nairobi. He influenced them to come to Nairobi. The cousin had been taken in by the boys parents,” said Muigi Thuo, a manager at Greenline Safaris.
Mr Thuo said that the two boys were among a group of six, four of whom travelled clinging on a Nairobi-bound truck.
