In a bold move aimed at addressing Kenya’s escalating unemployment crisis, popular comedian Eric Omondi has launched a groundbreaking initiative known as the Kenya Employment Association. This initiative comes in response to the grim reality that nearly half of Kenya’s population is currently without jobs, leading to significant economic challenges for many families across the country.

In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram page, Eric Omondi expressed deep concern over the widespread unemployment situation in Kenya, emphasizing the profound impact it has on individuals’ ability to provide for their families and lead comfortable lives.

“Nearly half of the Kenyan population is unemployed. Most men are unable to provide for their children and wives. Putting food on the table has become an issue in this country, and it is because of the high levels of unemployment,” Eric lamented.

The Kenya Employment Association

The core objective of the Kenya Employment Association is to bridge the gap between job seekers and potential employers by facilitating genuine and bias-free connections within the job market. Furthermore, Eric Omondi passionately called on unemployed Kenyans to submit their contact information to a designated number, promising to leverage his influence and creativity to facilitate meaningful job placements.

“We are going to provide employment by connecting employers to employees. If you are out there and you are not employed, please send your number and name to this number. We are going to put all our energy and creativity into connecting employers with employees because that is the only way we are going to save this nation,” Eric stated emphatically.

Acknowledging the struggles faced by educated individuals who remain unemployed despite their qualifications, Eric highlighted the urgent need for employers to open doors to diverse job opportunities, regardless of the nature of the work.

“If you are an employer, if you have any job, it could be a house help, a mechanic, a nurse, a doctor, a lawyer, even mtu wa mjengo (construction worker). If you have somewhere you are building and need a casual worker to carry blocks or wood, please comment below,” Eric urged potential employers.

Finally, The Kenya Employment Association aims to revolutionize the employment landscape in Kenya and serve as a beacon of hope for those grappling with joblessness. By fostering meaningful connections between employers and job seekers, Eric Omondi’s initiative strives to contribute positively to the nation’s socioeconomic well-being and uplift countless lives affected by unemployment.
