The bad boy of Kinshasa Koffi Olomide was released from prison on Thursday after he was sentenced to serve 18 months for physically abusing one of his female dancers identified as Pamela.
His arrest at his palatial home in the DRC capital, and the subsequent sentencing, came as a shock to many of his fans despite the wide public outrage following his actions at JKIA in Nairobi last week.
Following the ugly incident at the airport, the Selfie hit maker was arrested by Kenyan police officers and after spending a night at a police cell, he was deported back to Congo where he was met with anger from a section of Congolese citizens. A few hours later, he was arrested at his home by the Congo police.
A judge had sentenced him to a year-and-half in prison, but he was released a day later in unclear circumstances.
