City multimillionaire Joe Kariuki and Candy n Candy CEO has been keeping a low profile of late but it seems he is okay and busy trying to rebuild or rather relaunch the record label that has been on the forefront in supporting our local talent. That is why over the weekend he stepped up to the plate after an award show embarrassed coast artistes.
Well, last weekend, the much anticipated Mombasa Awards went down at the famous Azura lounge but all did not go well. Kenyans took to social media to ridicule the Awards organisers plus Founder Douglas Mickie whom they referred to as a joker after awarding celebrities from differnt categories with some of the most ugliest awards ever.
Were they trying to copy BET? Lol! Kenyans can be crazy at times. Anyway, Joe Kariuki has decided to ‘re-award’ all the winners with new trophies tomorrow at the same venue and he communicated this through his official account
“Mombasa Awards being redone coz we need to appreciate our own artist more…giving them the recognition they need…”
