What do you want most when you have a free space on your tight day? Have you read on the Internet, have sex, eat chocolate or have a drink? According to a recent study by the company iPass Inc the first answer is not sex, strange as it may seem.

To answer this question objectively the company had more than 1,700  people, who were asked about their habits of connectivity, preferences and expectations, as well as to value their level of dependence to be connected. What was his surprise when the results showed that for the 40% of the volunteers the most important thing was to have Wi-Fi. In addition, they recognized that their quality of life had improved significantly. Sex was in second position, being vital for 37% of the participants and alcohol last (9%).

According to Patricia Hume, iPass’s commercial director, “Wi-Fi is not only the most popular method of connecting to the Internet, it has surpassed many other human needs. That Wi-Fi is more important than sex, alcohol Or chocolate, would have been unthinkable a few years ago. ”

They also discovered that Wi-Fi compromised the travel options of many workers. Seventy-two percent of them acknowledged that they had chosen their accommodation based on previous experiences with the hotel’s connectivity on at least one occasion, while 21% acknowledged that it was the first thing they looked at before making a reservation.
