KEPSA – KYEP CYCLE 6

Are you a Kenyan aged between 15- 29 years? Not been in school, college or employment in the past year?

Not participated in previous cycles offered by KEPSA-KYEP (Kenya Private Sector Alliance -Kenya Youth Empowerment Project )? Then you are the person we are looking for!!!!!!!! This Friday, 3rd October, 2014 KEPSA-KYEP rolls out yet another cycle to call interns for the exciting Private Sector training and internship program. Tell your friends about it and have them tell their friends’ friends and get applying!!!

How To Apply For KYEP

Application forms can be downloaded from these websites: www.kepsa.or.ke or www.planning.go.ke. Hard copy application forms are available at the Sub-county Youth offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu counties.

You can also apply online application portal on the two websites above for those who wish to make online applications. You will be required to fill the application form for one of the three locations depending on where you wish to undertake your internship in the event that they get selected.

Requirements to join KEPSA – KYEP?

a) Be between 15 and 29 years of age;
b) Have a minimum qualification of KCPE;
c) Not be currently in school/college;
d) Have been out of school for at least one year;
e) Not be currently working;
f) Be of Kenyan nationality; and,
g) Not have been selected in previous cycles.

Training for the interns will comprise of the following:

  • First two weeks will be Life Skills Training
  • Core Business Skills Training (3-5 Weeks). Interns in the Informal Sector will receive 3 weeks of the training since they will receive an additional module on entrepreneurship training. While those in the formal sector will receive 5 weeks of training.
  • Entrepreneurship training (2 Weeks) for those in the Informal sector
  • Sector Specific Training as follows :
  • Energy, Manufacturing, Finance, ICT and Tourism Skills Training (5 Weeks);
  • MSE Skills Training (3 Weeks)

Benefits of KEPSA-KYEP Program

Youth will be paid Ksh. 6,000 per month during the internship to cater for lunch and transport,while the employer will receive Ksh. 3,000 per month.

Proof of eligibility will be required before enrollment into the program. As the internship is six months in length and full attendance is required throughout, youth are required to ensure that they do not have conflicting commitments before applying.

 

The deadline for receiving applications is 24th October, 2014! Avoid the last minute rush.
