Out of the five African teams who are playing in Russia’s World Cup 2018, only Senegal have recorded a win as things become more thick for the other four.
The defeat of Nigeria, Morocco and Egypt has reminded modern Africans how the western world continue to colonize the black continent even before the full glare of human rights centres.
During the colonial periods in the 18 century, strong and able bodied were forcefully shipped out of Africa or by tipping off African chiefs with liquors or old used guns and bicycles.
But when the rules changed, the hunter had to learn how to shoot without missing as the bird stopped patching.
As we speak, the forest is still the same, with the same hunters who changed their methods.
Africa has suffered and continued to suffer in successive world cups, due to the white man supremacy. Many African top players have been lured to play for western nations after being awarded with lucrative money, in their naivety and younger age, they have agreed.
A good example is Joel Matip, who plays at Liverpool in England shockingly retired from his national team Cameroon so as he could play and focus his career on the English side club. His actions did not only spark negative reactions but costed his country who ended up losing a world cup spot.
