The Liverpool accused their Egyptian player Mohamed Salah to the Merseyside County police for using the mobile phone while driving, as it is deduced from the images captured by an amateur last Sunday and published on social networks.

The club of Anfield had knowledge of the facts due to the diffusion of the video in the networks, according to several English means.

The images were recorded by an amateur who wanted to ask for an autograph to Salah while he was using his mobile phone in a traffic jam.

A Liverpool spokesman confirmed the video was sent to the county police authorities.

“The club, after speaking with the player, told about the Merseyside Police about the images and the circumstances surrounding his recording, and we talked to Salah about it, but the matter will be with the internally, settled the spokesman.

The Merseyside police issued another official statement on their Twitter account.

‘’We have had knowledge of a video in which, supposedly, a football player is shown using the mobile phone while driving. This was moved to the corresponding department. Thanks for informing us, “the police said.

According to the British legislation, this type of infraction is sanctioned with the loss of points in the driver’s license and a fine of up to 1000 pounds (about Ksh. 100,000).

The events occurred just after the match between Liverpool and West Ham, corresponding to the first day of the English league, in which Mohamed Salah scored one of the goals of the ‘red’ victory by 4-0.
