Brain Kassaine, who was one of the three key suspect linked to the murder of Monica Kimani has been freed on bail and ordered by police to report at DCI centre on every Thursdays for the next two months.
Kassaine who was being treated as a suspect would now serve as a state witness as the duo Jacky Maribe and Joseph Irungu are bound to take plea on next Monday as they face murder charges.
It is believed that Kassaine changed his tone and gave crucial information to police before he was released.
Kassaine was the owner of the borrowed pistol which Jowie shot himself with during the night of murder. Kassaine who is Jacky Maribe’s neigbour was woken up by Jowie to come and collect the gun after he shot himslef in the shoulder.
Maribe and Kassaine and his wife together took Jowie to three different hospitals in Nairobi. It was later revealed that Jowie tried to commit suicide in bathroom against earlier accounts where they had reported that robbers shot them before they escaped on a motorbike.
Kassaine also told the police that Jowie had come to borrow paraffin on the very same night to burn some of the clothes which were ‘disturbing’ him.
He did not offer the help which prompted Jowie to improvise ways to burn the clothes (Kanzu) police believe were the ones seen with the last man who saw Monica Kimani before death.
It is also thought that Jowie did all these in full knowledge of his girlfriend Maribe.
Police are also on the hunt for another suspect who is still at large. The killer is said to be aware of the murder weapon and two sets of keys – that of Monica’s house and her car – which are still missing.
The suspect who is at large thought to be in Mombasa is romoured to have gone for ‘witchcraft’ cleansing so as to evade police hooks
Police have camped in Mombasa to try and arrest the suspect who was seen with Jowie in Maribe’s car on the very night Monica was killed. The suspect was seen on CCTV cameras as Jowie drove to the murder scene

When our forefathers were out there fighting and living in the cold with no women, Masaais were indoors pounding their women's kolanuts.True to his roots, Brian Kassaine has collaborated#briankassaine pic.twitter.com/3qPpFiT8JH

I'll definitely do the same thing as Brian Kassaine, I can't overlook an avenue to be free because some useless friendship (which is a scam nowadays) want me to be mute about it.. Let me be a traitor for life. @ItsBravin

Some of You are insane. You are out here calling Brian Kassaine a Traitor for being a State Witness against Joe Irungu and Jacque Maribe, simply because they are friends. Friends don't engage in Murder and drag you along with them. On the Contrary, He is a Patriot. 👌

Brian Kassaine is life-smart. He knows friends are only for wining and dining with; they are not for going to jail with.
