Sinced launching his musical career in 2003, Jimwat has kept Kenyan music lovers on their feet with hit after hit. He disappeared briefly from the music scene due to drug and alcohol addiction and a grissly accident that almost cost him his life but made his comeback with ‘Am Coming Home‘ hitsong featuring Das Walanguzi. 2.Jimwat was born on May 21,1985
3.He grew up in Kabete,attended Musa Gitau Primary School. He sat his O-level exams at Chinga High School in Nyeri and thereafter studied Graphic Design
4.Jimwat started rapping while still in class 7
5.Though he recorded his first song (Sema Nami Sweetie) while still in form four, it was not released until he cleared high school.
6.He has often used music to push national agendas. He released Sitoi Kitu Kidogo and Simama which condemn the bribery and corruption culture in Kenya.
7. Having successfully battled drug and alcohol abuse,Jimwat launched Jimwat Foundation to help youth struggling with substance abuse.
8. He has gotten nominated for several music awards including 4 categories in the 2007 Kisima Awards and won the 2006 CHAT awards in the Favorite New Artist category.
9. He has bagged three nominations in the 2016 Mistari Awards for his collabos with Das Walanguzi. On my way has been nominated twice in the Best Verse category and Best Male Perspective Lyrics category. Their newest collabo, Siendi Home Solo, has been nominated in the Best Comic Lyrics category.
