We have seen him in our televisions, probably cheered for him during the Olympics, Ezekiel Kemboi is one of the legendary sportsmen that have brought glory to Kenya over the many years in the athletic championships. His hilarious dance moves have made him popular among many people. Here are some of the things you didn’t know about him;

10 Things You Didn't Know About Ezekiel Kemboi

1. He was born and raised in Matira in Marakwet District, Rift valley Province.
2. Graduated from Kapsowar Boys Secondary School in 1999.
3. He didn’t take athletics after high school but Paul Ereng spotted him and he participated in the African juniorChampionships in 2001 where he won despite him falling.
4. Married to Jane Jepchumba Kemboi and has two sons.

5. Owns a 50 acre land near Moi’s bridge.
6. Coached by Moses Kiptanui who is also his neighbor.
7. He was charged with assault in 2012 after a woman claimed he stabbed her after she refused his sexual advances.
8. These assault charges almost made him not participate in the 2012 Olympics.

9. Also known as the dancing Kenyan as he is famous of his dance moves after winning.

10. He has won 10 gold medals over his years of running.
