On Saturday morning of 01/06/2019, eight people lost their dear lives while others were left with in injuries after a matatu collided with a stalled lorry lorry at Matulo along the Webuye-Bungoma highway.
Police accounted that the matatu driver was trying to overtake the speeding Modern Coast Bus before it run through the stalled lorry.
“The lorry had developed a mechanical problem and had stalled on the road,” police said.
The driver of the matatu fled off the scene after escaping unhurt.
The injured were taken to Webuye Sub-county hospital as police launched investigations.
It is believed that among the dead, is unidentified Kibabii University Student
