Rington whose real name is Alex Apoko is a real man from rags to riches. He was born in Kisii County but grew up in Nairobi. Through his struggles, his desire to reach the peak of his gifted music talent kept burning. He is currently one of the celebrated gospel musician in Kenya. Some of his clips that have taken his fans attention includes Rudi nyumbani, Usichague kazi, Dan dan dj, Ni yesu tu and Yesu ni mwamba.

10. He was born then abandoned by the mother. His father died when he was 5 years old. He was brought up by his grandmother. The grandmother brewed changaa for their up keep.
9. Her grandmother died and he went to Mombasa to search for wazungu and to work as a beach boy. It was difficult so he came back to Nairobi and became a chokoraa.
8. His first performance as a musician was fiercely resisted by the audience, they discouraged him and hurled bottles at him. He was told that he had the poorest voice they have ever heard.

5. He yet got into another scandal in April last year when Susan Makali, an upcoming artist accused him of sexual harassment. She claimed that Rington had touched her thighs in a car.
