Former Mathare FC and Tusker FC goal keeper Arnold Origi has acquired a Norwegian statesmanship after ditching Kenyan citizenship.
Under the Norway customary law, dual citizenship is not permitted hence Origi had to ditch his former Harambee Stars mates to get the new status.
Origi moved to the Norwegian side in 2007 where he was featured in Lillestrome club. The 33 year old keeper thus means has spet more than 10 years in Norway.
Football Kenya Federation CEO Mr. Muthomi has confirmed the illegibility of Origi playing for Harambee Stars from now henceforth.
Arnold is a cousin to Liverpool’s hitman Divock Origi who also got lost his Kenyan status to Belgium.
Arnold has capped 27 times for the mens’ national side.
Origi comes from a football family. His uncle is the famous Mike, was a professional footballer in Belgium.
His father, Austin Oduor Origi, was a long term captain of Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia, and his other uncles Gerald and Anthony were defenders at Tusker.
His cousin Divock plays for Liverpool in the English Premier League as well as the Belgium national team
