Kenyan musician Bahati has revealed that he is actively searching for a woman who claims to be his biological mother. The revelation has sparked intrigue and skepticism across social media, with many Kenyans questioning the authenticity of the story while others speculate about a possible music release tied to the viral moment.
The woman, identified as Judith Makokha, approached Bahati’s elder brother, claiming she had abandoned him at a children’s home due to unavoidable circumstances. She has requested a DNA test to confirm their relationship. Bahati confirmed that he had not interacted with the woman before but became interested after seeing video clips and reading comments suggesting she resembles his children.
Bahati shared that his elder brother had received attempts from Judith to contact the musician over the past five years, which were largely ignored. He admitted that the story caught him by surprise and prompted questions about his identity. Bahati jokingly and seriously reflected on the possibility that his heritage might differ from what he has always known, suggesting he might be from a different community than his upbringing indicated.
The musician recalled attending his mother’s funeral over 25 years ago when he was seven. Despite this, he admitted that the possibility of a living mother has made him reconsider past assumptions and consider pursuing a DNA test to verify Judith’s claim. He acknowledged the challenges, including lack of direct contact with the woman, and appealed for assistance in reconnecting.
Bahati’s story has stirred conversation online, blending curiosity, nostalgia, and questions about identity. His willingness to explore the claim publicly reflects a desire for clarity and connection, even decades after the loss he experienced as a child.
