City Askaris in Nairobi county have been on spot on many occasion when it comes to handling of hawkers in Nairobi county.

For several years they have turned into law-breakers instead of law-enforcers. Maiming law breakers instead of arresting them.

Following the new directive by Governor Mike Sonko which saw all and sundry hawkers get evicted from the Nairobi CBD, many have suffred the wrath

You would expect the @PoliceKE to deal humanely with a woman, more so a breastfeeding one. But this is just not the case for @MikeSonko's city county askaris and their Kenya Police counterparts who have been hunting down elusive hawkers in Nairobi. pic.twitter.com/zFr77B0mpV
