When the family of Tecra Muigai announced her death on Sunday 3rd, the immediate cause of her demise was only identified as ‘tragic accident’.

But what did the Daily Nation report on their social accounts?

The screenshots tell everything was not right.

It became clear that the cause of her death was under DCI investiagtion and upto now no one can confirm the death.

Her boyfriend Omar Lali who was with Tecra before death, even went ahead to give conflicting reports on her death.

Daily Nation and other media houses have been caught up on social media as they compete to break out latest news with bloggers,a move that always lands big media houses in problems.

A good advise should be, stick to your lanes, and readers will always look for mainstream media when they need to confirm breaking news from bloggers.

Trying to compete with bloggers on breaking latest news will always be a move in wrong direction.
