DCI Kenya, Kenya’s central police detective centre, has issued an alert to Kenyan on the latest internal scam alert better known as Wangiri.
Police say that international scammers are targeting thousands of unsuspecting mobile subscribers internationally by giving them international missed calls.
What happens next is the urge to return the call, which redirects your call to a very expensive premium charges, to which these fraudsters are directly linked to the profits.
Police urge Kenyans to ignore returning the missed calls, and in return report the numbers to their mobile subscribers so that they can be blocked from Kenyan networks.
