Death has yet claimed another prominent Kenyan leader at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi.
David Mwiraria died after a long battle with cancer, the family reports said.
Due to the battle, he had failed to appear on several occasions in court to answer charges relating to Anglo Leasing where he was accused of a conspiracy to fraud Kenya close to 4 billion shillings.
Mwiraria (born 3 September 1938) was the Minister for Environment and Natural Resources previously Finance Minister of Kenya until December 2007 when Kenya held its General Elections.
Running for re election on a Party of National Unity ticket, defending his seat as Member of parliament for North Imenti Constituency, he was defeated by Silas Muriuki, who was running on a Mazingira Green Party of Kenya ticket.
