Diamond Platnumz, real name Naseeb Juma, has complained to Forbes Magazine over their recent ranking report of African artists .
In 2021, Forbes Africa ranked the richest African Artists according to their net worth
The list featured mostly Nigerian artists with Kenyan Akothee coming 15th, while Ugandan Bobi Wine came 16th while Diamond was listed at number 17.
Diamond, complained Forbes didn’t do accurate numbers. The Waah hit maker did not however his net worth..
“FORBES: Next time Google me to know I am really worth of before putting me on your Stupid Richest African Musicians list!!!!!,” he posted on his Instagram page.
Akothee laughed on the idea that Kenyans would think she bribed Forbes to be listed at number 15.
“Kenya mtajitetea mkiwa upande gani. 40 looks like this,” she shared.
Diamond had been listed by other magazines as the best in Africa such as CNN in 2019 where he emerged in top 10 with other Nigerian artists namely Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, and Wizkid.
Diamond owns popular East Africa record label known as Wasafi aka WCB.
Diamond said, “I’ve built WCB-Wasafi from the ground up and believe that Warner Music and Ziiki are the right partners to help further grow our reach. “I’m also looking forward to plugging into the Warner network myself. We’ve got some exciting plans and I can’t wait to share more music with the world.”
