When President Uhuru Kenyatta and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron broke their VVIP protocol and decided to go on car test, things were meant to go wrong since we all know they are not used to such kind of dramas local go through.
And sure enough, there are enough blunders in the basket than we could imagine
On Wednesday 13th, the two decided to ride on the new Peugeot 3008, one of the models that was locally assembled in Kenya by French vehicle manufacturer, PSA Groupe.
And President Uhuru being himself as usual, asked to drive the French leader.
So he made several rides and turns around the tarmacked State House road, all without having safety belts.
English nutmegs him
When asked by an inaudible voice a question that began with ‘May I..’, he was again humbled by the queens language.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was quick to reply to the question beginning with;
Yes you may…
When one asks a question beginning with such a modal verb ‘May’, it is good to begin your answer with the following options
- Sure.
- Certainly.
- Of course.
You can also offer to decline the offer, by beginning with ‘No’ then offer a short explanation
- No, not now.
- No, I have company.
- No, I’m busy.
- No. Now is not good.
