Kenyan gospel singer Grace Sunday stirred emotions after sharing her final WhatsApp conversations with her late son, Arnold. The chats, filled with playful messages and hopeful plans, offered a glimpse into a bond cut short by tragedy, leaving many Kenyans reflecting on how quickly life can change.

Grace Sunday, known for gospel hits such as Omukuri Wanje and Nitashinda Vita, posted a photo of Arnold alongside screenshots of their last messages on Thursday, September 18. She reflected on the pain of losing him a year ago, describing how fresh the grief still felt. “How time flies, it was just the other day when you left the house, never to return. It’s already one year, babaa. But the scar is still fresh, the pain,” she wrote.

In the messages, Arnold greeted his mother after finishing exams. Grace responded warmly, praising him for his efforts and asking for photos from the event. Arnold joked about whether his father had bought his mother chicken, a playful exchange that highlighted their close relationship. He also reassured her, saying, “We will celebrate these achievements one day.”

Grace reflected on the plans they had shared before his death. She had hoped they would stay together, work hard, and celebrate their successes. “The cruel hand of death snatched you away from me. Your strong mum is hanging in there, darling. Maybe someday it will be well,” she wrote.

She described Arnold as her best friend, sharing her longing for their chats, laughter, and his encouraging words. “I miss our chats and laughter. I miss your encouraging and wise words. You know what? I’m still Mama Arno even in your absence. I miss you, my Arnold,” she said.

The post touched many Kenyans, sparking condolences and reflections on the fragility of life. Grace Sunday’s tribute captures both the depth of a mother’s love and the lasting impact of a young life lost too soon.
