First Daughter Charlene Ruto has unveiled a competition inviting creative Kenyans to participate. The 31-year-old promises the winner a cash prize along with the opportunity to dine with her.
A Chance for Creative Minds: Charlene Ruto’s Logo Competition Invitation
Charlene, who recently faced criticism for her remarks on Kenyan youth and securing a government position, is now directing attention to The Young People’s Network International (TYPNI), offering a chance for inventive minds to win KSh 100,000 by designing its logo. Run by Charlene Ruto, TYPNI is calling for logo entries from individuals aged 18 to 30 in anticipation of its G-Tume initiative.
The victor not only earns a lunch date with Charlene but also secures automatic membership to TYPNI. The deadline for submissions is March 11, 2024. Charlene, speaking during the competition’s launch on February 19, emphasized the network’s inclusivity, welcoming entries regardless of submission method or skill level.
“We’re initiating a logo competition today, closing on the 11th of March. Your tools don’t define your creativity; whether it’s pen and paper or a laptop, wherever you are, let your creativity shine and design a logo for TYPNI.”
Charlene Ruto faces Critisism
The call for entries follows closely on the heels of recent criticism aimed at Charlene, who had sparked controversy by urging youth to take proactive steps amidst unemployment instead of idling. Despite facing backlash for advocating for youth to network and create opportunities for themselves, Charlene, the esteemed founder and patron of the Smachs Foundation, remained in the spotlight.
Not long before, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha appointed Charlene as Kenya’s blood ambassador. CS Nakhumicha defended the appointment, citing Charlene’s altruistic efforts as aligned with the Ministry of Health’s objectives to bolster healthcare systems. Nonetheless, critics questioned the appointment, arguing that other qualified candidates were overlooked for the role.
