Celebrated media personality Jeff Koinange has been summoned by Media Council of Kenya concerning his interview with COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli which happened on 15th August during JKL, Citizen TV.
During the interview which came live at 9.45pm, Jeff asked Atwoli about his latest love affair with KTN anchor Mary Kilobi, who is said to be his second wife.
Jeff wanted to know if Atwoli was able to satisfy his wives in bed,
He questioned with such raw words;
‘lakini kazi bado unafanya’, ‘katiba bado unasoma’ and ‘kazi bado unaweza’
The media governing body’s CEO David Omwoyo has asked the concerned to answer relevant issues concerning the show
“The host was persistent in discussing explicit adult-related content outside the watershed hours,” said Omwoyo.
“At some point, Mr. Atwoli dismisses Mr. Koinange reminding him that it’s important to be cautious about disclosing his private issues for the sake of his children who are watching,” added Omwoyo.
Mr.Omwonyo accused Jeff of breaching clause 13 of the code of conduct for journalists touching on privacy.
“The article states that inquiries into an individual’s private life are not acceptable and things concerning a person’s home, family, religion, sexuality, personal life and individuals private affairs shall not be allowed,”
Before Jeff Koinange joined Citizen TV, he was suspended from KTN after his controversial show where he hosted NRM general Miguna Miguna and Esther Passaris.
Jeff was accused of watching over as Miguna Miguna abused Nairobi women rep on live TV show.
