New hiked fuel prices spanning across Kenya have sparked mixed reactions as the 16% VAT tax inclusion took place as from the 1st of September 2018.
And even politicians from the same campaign party, have been caught up in contracting and different statement on the same issue.
Take for instance, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday differed bitterly over the President’s role on fuel prices which have already gone through the roof.
Hon.Sakaja in his tweet, asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to asset to the amendment bill which will see suspension of the 16% VAT price on fuel. It is here that Hon.Murkomen thought of his fellows double standards.
Murkomen asked Sakaja why he was speaking against the law he passed when he was then a Nominated MP in the parliament. Besides he also asked Sakaja why he did not stand for Mau evictions victims if indeed he was touched by ‘sauti ya mnyonge’.
I agree with you Hon.Sakaja on this. But remember you issued a statement publicly when I visited the people of MAU against this approach. In your own words you warned me against “inciting Kenyans against Uhuru’s initiatives” coz it is “…disingenuous, underhand&disrespectful” https://t.co/i3tqSwP9Qk

Sakaja was quick to defend himself, saying that during the Mau evictions, the president had already ordered the eviction process to take place, but this amendment had not yet be signed.
Remember Bro that this Petroleum law was passed when you were in National Assembly in 2013. You have no legitimacy to pretend wail. https://t.co/uw4FEBX6gv

Murkomen concluded the argument by welcoming Sakaja to the ‘watetezi club’ by all odds.
Kutetea raia maskini bro haina formulae. That’s why you can see the people of Mau are being attended to. I Welcome you to this noble mission even if it means you have to contradict yourself. On this one I forgive you. https://t.co/uw4FEBX6gv
