Kenyan national anthem was original sang and produced in Kiswahili language before it was adopted n English texts.
What started as a kid’s entertainment song by a group of Pokomo mothers was later rendered into a national anthem by a Kenyan music adviser. Today it is sung on both national and international podiums.
The mothers and the music adviser together submitted the song’s lyrics by 1963 meant to stir deepest convictions and highest aspirations from the whole Kenyans.
Even though today the music is officially done in Kiswahili or English, Nyanza people so far have their own version in Luo language, it remains unofficial but so much entertaining.
