KOT Applaud Kuria Here is what they had on their minds

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has replied to the news after Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu send home his brother on compulsory leave.

Unlike before where Moses Kuria would not afford to spare politicians who dared to cross his line of thought, he has taken down his pride and remained cautious.

The victim of circumstance, Mr. John Ngigi Kuria was taking care of Kiambu County as Chief Officer in charge of Agriculture, Crop Production, Irrigation and Marketing in the county, before he was sent parking to an annual leave on January 2nd, 2019.

Before his 30-day leave, he was ordered to surrender all tools of power to
Livestock and Fisheries docket.

Moses Kuria has termed the move unfair and political motivated.

“He (my brother) got terminated at 8pm last night, just a few days after our encounter with Waititu in Thika, and he was not even given time to hand over. We need to build a culture of strengthening institutions of removing politics from the running of administrations and the civil service and the public service and to make professional our management of public affairs,” said Mr Kuria after attending the memorial service of Equity Bank co-founder Peter Kagema in Nairobi on Thursday.

His brother had been sacked barely after he criticized the President for neglecting Mt. Kenya region

“Introducing politics in such affairs is very unfair, but that is the kind of governor that we have in our county, unfortunately,” said Kuria.

On his side, Waititu blamed ‘busy nature of his office’ before he sent the Chief Officer for leave.

“You are therefore advised to proceed for your annual 30 days leave w.e.f (with effect from) Thursday the 3rd January, 2019. You will be required to resume duty on Tuesday the 14th February, 2019. In this regard, handover your duties and any other county property, tools or equipment in your custody to the Chief Officer Livestock, Fisheries, Veterinary Services,” reads Mr Waititu’s letter.

During the eve of New Year celebrations, Moses Kuria lamented that the Mt. Kenya region had benefited little from the National government despite voting current government massively in 2017 and 2013 National elections.

“We have been rendered into voting machines but development is channeled elsewhere; we must shelve that nonsense. I want to tell the President to launch water, new roads and electrification projects. We were with him in Kisumu where he launched new roads but coming to Kiambu, he only issued certificates to rehabilitated alcoholics,” said Mr Kuria.

KOT Applaud Kuria

Kenyans on Twitter on Thursday 3rd, a day after the brother was sacked, applauded Moses Kuria comments that criticized the National Government of neglecting the very people that voted them to the power positions

Most Kenyans remained adamant that today politicians mind their families and close friends after elections

Here is what they had on their minds

Uhuru Kenyatta has turned Mt. Kenya region into his voting machines but when it comes to the cake only his relatives and close friends are benefiting.@UKenyatta our relationship should be two way as Moses Kuria put it.

Hon Moses Kuria has made it clear that, one of you being the President is not a guarantee for better treatment! It's all about leadership not region/tribe . I will vote for Raila Odinga in 2022 & should he decide not to vie, I will add his name to my ballot paper and vote for him

Moses Kuria is just speaking about what is on the mind of the people of Kiambu and generally Central. The Highest number of IDPs in Kenya are people from Central yet they haven't been settled even with their own in power. Most jigger victims? Drunks? Open your eyes.

Some of them however criticized Kuria of being Uhuru’s right hand man.

Dear Moses Kuria,

So after a solid 5 years of calling Luos “kihii” & heaping undeserved praise to Ushuru, you now realize that he hasn’t given the best for Central Kenya? So if you from the president’s backyard is crying foul, Imagine how we from Western must surely feel now.
