List – 200 Popular Kenyan Millionaires Hiding Old Sh.1000 Notes In Houses

Few years ago, Central bank of Kenya introduced new rules on the banking and withdrawals of cash more than one million in local banks.

The suspects, sensing danger, decided to play hide and seek with their money. A big gamble they took is least to say.

The CBK was clearly targeting money laundering, dubious businesses such as corruption and drug peddlers.

The would be culprit, were shocked on 1st of June 2019, when CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge announced an ultimatum over the death of the old sh.1000 notes by August 2019.

That meant that the dubious and illegally obtained millions languishing in houses, had only two months to be spent without any kind of suspicion.

Already, the government has set up security measures to curb those clever suspects planning to smuggle the bundles in cash.

Security guards at airports in the country, Micro-finance banks and foreign bureaus have been put on high alert.
