Citizen TV news anchor Lulu Hassan has received a prestigious global award nomination, solidifying her influence in both media and entrepreneurship. The journalist and media entrepreneur was nominated for the Global Entrepreneurs Award under the Global Industry Award category, a recognition reserved for individuals who have revolutionised industries and made a significant global impact.

The Global Entrepreneurs Award celebrates leaders whose contributions to business, economic growth, and entrepreneurship inspire change worldwide. The accolade highlights visionaries who have transformed industries, driven innovation, and impacted communities on a global scale.

Lulu Hassan expressed her excitement and gratitude for the nomination on social media, emphasising the value of small acts of kindness. “I am elated!! Alhamdullilah. God is faithful…and God is in this story. Even minor acts of kindness have a significant impact not just on the people around you but globally,” she shared on Instagram. She also thanked her fans for their continuous support, acknowledging the role they play in her journey.

Beyond her recognition as a journalist, Lulu Hassan is making a tangible difference in people’s lives through her work. Her show, Shajara na Lulu, highlights human-interest stories, giving a voice to marginalised communities and inspiring viewers with stories of resilience and success. The program has become a platform for empathy, storytelling, and social awareness, reaching audiences across Kenya and beyond.

As CEO of Jiffy Pictures, a production company she co-founded with her husband Rashid Abdalla, Lulu has transformed the Kenyan media landscape. Since its inception in 2016, Jiffy Pictures has produced popular Swahili telenovelas such as Maria, Sultana, and Zora. These productions have created opportunities for actors, directors, and screenwriters, nurturing new talent and contributing to the growth of Kenya’s entertainment industry.

Jiffy Pictures focuses on local Swahili content for platforms like Showmax, providing a platform for East African talent to thrive. The company continues to hold auditions for emerging artists, ensuring that the next generation of creatives has the resources and support needed to succeed.

Lulu Hassan’s recognition through the Global Entrepreneurs Award underscores her influence as both a journalist and an entrepreneur. Her dedication to storytelling, talent development, and industry innovation reflects a career committed to making meaningful change in Kenya and beyond.
