Tottenham midfielder and Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama on Wednesday 7th August 2019 filed a case at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi accusing Menengai Oil Refineries over image rights violation.
Wanyam is now seeking compensation for copyright infringement.
Menengai Oil Refineries run a poster ad during the run of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt . Through the poster they used images of Wanyama, Ovella Ochieng’ and Michael Olunga.
Wanyama’s law team argue that the ad was used for promotional purposes rather than rallying support for Harambee Stars
