DCI officers in Kisumu county summoned embattled Migori governor Okoth Obado over the death of Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno who died in a brutal murder.
The governor, Okoth Obado recorded the police statement at Kisumu Regional Police headquarters on Tuesday 11th on September, nearly a week after the murder.
Okoth Obado’s aide Micheal Oyamo who had been arrested was denied bail and his case is still pending along with other co-accused. An ex MCA was also arrested and is facing related charges.
Late Sharon Otieno was abducted on 3rd Monday September, her co-kidnapped nation journalist Barrack Odour fled her murderers when he jumped out of the moving car after sensing danger.
The body of 26-year old mother of three said to be 6 months pregnant was later found in a bush ticket, with 8 stabs of knives and strangulation which led to her death. The autopsy report also showed that she was raped before being killed.
