Not again heavy rains have continued to choke Nairobi residents with floods and unending showers which come day and night.
And there is no such difference in the month of August!
For the last few days, the sewage lines have been clogged, spilling the raw sewage into the flooded waters which have met big obstacles from buildings that have been erected on the water ways and on the river sides.
On 15th March 2018, a five storey building in Juja was swept down by the heavy rains which had been pounding down on it from the previous day.
For Nairobians, the heavy pounding rains equals to snaking traffic jams, floods, power blackout and hiked commuting prices.
Here are some tips to stay safe from heavy rains
- Avoid water ways
- Avoid wet grounds which are prone to breaking
- Avoid taking shades on walls since they could come down anytime
- Have police and Red Cross hotlines
- Stay safe always
