Citizen TV anchor Joey Muthengi has left Citizen TV over personal interests that costed her job.

The sassy host of ‘Day Break’ and ‘10 over 10′  is believed to have handed her resignation after being summoned by disciplinary action regarding her appearance in BETIN advert.

It is believed that she went ‘beyond’ the limits after advertising for rival firm BETIN at the expense of Shabiki which is sponsored by Royal Media Service that hosts Citizen TV

“The thinking was that she is a Citizen TV brand and should not be promoting a rival company,”  a source said.

Joey who had signed a six figure salary with BETIN is said to be preparing another shoot in Italy whee he co-model Kenyan footballer McDonald Mariga is based.

The previous ads had been done in same European state.

Before moving to TV, Muthengi worked for Capital FM as a presenter.

Mariga signed an 8 Million deal with the firm since 2017 to be featured in their adverts
